The YB11EX2 concept is simple: increase the handle stiffness and strength without increasing the weight. The barrel is made with the industry leading AC21 alloy. The Transition area has metal that is trimmed in a grid pattern, then replaced with carbon composite inserts that are several times stronger and lighter than the metal they replace. The heart of the Exogrid is a carbon sleeve, which provides greater handle stiffness than aluminum alone ever could. Unidirectional fibers run the full length of the handle.
